    RBI’S LONG-TERM REPO OPERATIONS

    In response to the present economic slowdown, the RBI has consistently been reducing the Repo rate in order to inject more amount of liquidity into the Economy. Taking this forward, during the Monetary Policy Committee meeting held in February 2020, the RBI has decided to further inject around Rs 1 lakh crore into the banking system. Such injection of money shall take place through long term Repo Operations (LTROs) of 1 year and 3 years.
